anyone had experience with sps corals and zoas growing near each other? i have a bunch of nice high end zoas and would like to put them higher up in my sps dominate tank. I already have two zoa gardens and dont want to add another rock! any help would be great.

No good, try to put the Zoas to the bottom... and no prob keeping it in the same tank!

There is a limit in which you can keep them close to the SPS...

I had a Milli deflagrating a RTN after contact with Zoa gorwing around..

I haven't had zoanthids actually kill sps. Rather, they grow as close as possible and shade the sps out, the tissue recedes and the zoa grows over that area and so on. Protopalythoa do sting and kill though. I always just trim the zoas when they get too close by plucking with tweezers. I actually use this behavior to my advantage as a buffer zone to keep 2 sps from growing together and eventually have one overtake the other.
