so I have a 90 gallon tank, with Aqua illumination LEDs, the Sol White. I have sps and there are certain corals that are turning brown in some areas. what does the browning mean? and how can i get it to stop?
Here are my water parameters:
no amonia nitrates/trites, ph 8.1-8.3 ca 480 mg 1470 and alk is a little low at 2.6 mel/q

I have a refugium and a DSB and have never done a water change tank has been established for 7 months, should i preform one?

ive noticed when i had my 10k MH on they browned but whent i changed them to 20k MH they colored up more...ik the the more intense light it might brown it while a cooler color might grow it with slower but wont brown it

when you say change your lights what would u recommend, and is there any way i could change the lights without changing the full module. also i run a 16k look, its never white white but its not deep blue, it brightens and dims throughout the day. thanks everyone for helping me out!!

Yes!

What kind of SPS do you have? How are you testing your water? How long have the corals been in your tank for? Have you ever tested for phosphates? Are your test results consistent? Post a picture.

how long have you had the ai sol and what lighting did you have before? Sometime when corals have lighting changes to led they brown out for the first few months and slowly color up after.

i have had the sol's as long as the tank has been set up, about 8 months, i have strawberry shortcake across tricolor valida and some birds nests, the superman monti and other monti's look fine but the acros are having the problems, i need to test the p04 but there is no nuisance algae in the tank and i run phospan so i have not checked it.

I have a 100g reef mostly SPS and I have AI Sol super blue, when I first got them I started with very low intensity like 10whites 40blue and 40 royal blue, some of my tricolor brown up not completely and after 3 months they came up in colors. All my SPS have beautiful colors and I still keep the whites very low ......
This is my set up...

10:00am 1white/30blue/30rb..1 hour rampage
12:00pm 15w/80b/80rb...1 hour rampage
5pm 2w/40b/40rb..1 hour rampage...
9pm 0w/0b/0rb....
The grownth is not the best but the colors are crazy...
Good luck!!!!!

stability....... bring your alk up slowly and maintain it , any instability in your tank can cause them to brown out.

thank you everyone for your help, I'm going to lower the intensity of the white and increase the blue, also i plan on increasing my alk slowly and preforming a few 20% water changes, i will report back with any changes i see.
