I recently purchased 3 acropora frags and had them in the sandbed for 2 weeks to adjust to the light. Then placed them in the mid section of the tank, About a month ago I moved 2 out of the 3 down to the sand bed due to the mexican turbo plowing them over. The corals have been in the tank for 9 weeks now.
I noticed the 2 on the sandbed have shown much better growth then the frag up in the middle of the tank. There is more flow in the middle as well as light. The flow through the tank is very wide spread via the tunze so there was no direct flow hitting any corals. I have about 3500 gph in the 75. My light is the nova extreme 432 watt T-5. I have the common bulb setup 2 Ati blue plus, 2 geisman actinic plus, 2 UV super actinic and 2 UV aqua sun , (all bulbs are 3 months old) any clues as to why the growth is better on the bottom??
