So I got this realy nice pink sps colony off someone for 40$ and I brought it home and did a revive coral dip like I do all my corals..looked great but was sliming alot..so went to bed..woke up and BAM it was all white with the flesh gone..I see like 2 spots with.pink on it deep in the middle now my tank is super cloudy...so I did a water change and its a bit better... this is the first sps iv ever lost this normaly happen? Should I do another water change agin tomorrow? Also should I cut all the dead branches so the pink gets more light and grows back or will it re encrust on it?

It will reencrust over the dead spots but i would not be suprised if you ended up losing all of it. How did you acclimate it to your tank?

What coral dip is better then revive? Maybe it was the alk..his tank didn't look like is was in good care..did another change today and cleaned out all filters n stuff and re did rocks while I was at it..tank is crystal clear now

Peeling is generally alkalinity related, but can have a few other causes. What is your alkalinity at? Is it stable? I tried my luck with a birdsnest as my first SPS, and overnight the majority of it peeled away. Found out my alkalinity test kits were bad, and my alkalinity was very low.

After I corrected my alkalinity, the coral started regrowing and coloring back up, but it took a few weeks. I originally left the dead branches, but then found that they would grow algae and look bad, so I recently trimmed most of the dead branches off and it made the coral look much better.

I have used revive on over 200 pieces of sps and never lost one due to revive dips. I have honestly found it is much easier on sps the iodine and the stuff smells great so I am going with user error on your part. Have to agree with the all swing. I drip acclimate everything due to Varying parameters from tank to tank again never lost an sps to drip acclimating.
