SPS experts, please help!

take an infected piece and put it into another system to make sure it is either your tank/water or the coral causing the problem. This will help narrow your diagnostic. dip the infected corals. dip has been known to stop stn rtn in sps. Also a full complete test on your water will help. Hope everything turns out okay and good luck. thanks for posting here and please post your results. I have had problems in the past due to unusual behavior and your situation has really intrigued me!

If u read my first post, I said I took all the pieces I had left to a friends house and they are doing fine....healing and regrowing, so it's obviously something wrong with my tank.

Why do you just try Salinity aquavitro salt, salt does matter. You said you have been using rc and there is a problem so something has to change. a full tank shot and some close ups would help.

I'm pretty much done with your comments sir....they don't seem to be helpful.

Sometimes it can take a coral a few months to get back on track.

What are u talking about?

Well you ask for help then get angry at the responses. That doesn't make sense. How can you expect anyone to help if you're so sensitive to their response? Responses I've read from toothman in other threads and in this thread, are always civil. Maybe you need to step back and rethink exactly what you're looking for.

I'm not trying to sound angry, but toothman keeps telling me things I've already ruled out. I understand he is civil, but its like he's not even reading the posts before he responds. I apologize for my actions....I'm just frustrated with not being able to solve my issue.

Well there's obviously something causing the corals to STN. The only way to find the cause is process of elimination and that usually requires going over old ground - retesting tank parameters, ATO water tests, fresh mixed SW retested, etc. Once you're certain the tests are reliable and the readings are in line, then you go further if there was nothing out of line there you look at equipment to see if something is failing, rusting, etc. Maybe a piece of metal fell into the tank. Put a bag of Cuprisorb in the sump. Can't hurt, but if there are heavy metals, this will help. Change all your media. It's easy enough to do and maybe there's something happening with it that's not measurable. Check your heater to see if it's actually functioning. There's a whole checklist you need to go thru.

By your own admission, lots of parameters were out of line such as salinity and Ca. Ca probably wouldn't cause the issues you're having, but the salinity issue could I think. You really need to go back to getting everything buttoned up and then see what happens from there. None of us are there so you can be the only person to troubleshoot. We can only offer up suggestions as to what could be the issue. And, even if you believe you eliminated some possibilities such as pests, you still could have missed something that's not readily apparent. Lastly, you say NO3 is zero and PO4 is really low. This could be the issue. You're running ULNS but your alk is higher than ULNS is generally run.

There's no simple answer unfortunately and the only way to get to the bottom of it is thru process of elimination if there's nothing obvious.

Hope it goes well for you. Most all of us have been there and we all know how frustrating and discouraging it can be.
