SPS Frags for Sale

I need to get some cash together so I can afford to play hockey this winter. Talk about two expensive hobbys:eek1: .

Anyway I have never sold frags before so feel free to lambast me if my prices are way off base. I was hoping to sell some 2" pieces of the below pictured corals for $5. This is local pickup only. I live in CR.

Purple Tip Monti

I don't know what this one is called. I got it from SOM

I also have a 24" CF Light Fixture I would like to sell. See it here
The bulb is 8 months old. I would like to get $20 for it. I would be willing to ship this item.

Thanks

Thanks

I guess next time I should at least ask for the name of the coral before I purchase it. My wife and I just really liked the neon green color. It doesn't show up that well in the picture.

Yeah...that second one is a millipora prostrata. I traded Hung a bunch of frags awhile back for some stuff. It's a nice coral.

That means both of my SPS frags originally came from Bullet. The purple tip montipora I got from cbenn who told me he got his from you. :) I guess that doesn't bode well for me selling any frags as these two are probably already prolific in the CR area.

Funny how that works isnt it....most my stuff came from him too.

;)

Yeah, at least I am going to try to play this year.

I have never played before, so I will be playing in the "C" league too. I registered last week and I got an invite from a team called 'Rink Rats' yesterday that I accepted. I don't know anyone up there who plays so I figure it doesn't matter what team I am on.

I guess I'll see you on the ice! (I suck!)

If I would have know a little sooner you could have played with us. The Rink rats are good group also though. You should have a good time. Don't worry about sucking, you gotta start somewhere and "C" league is definitly not overly competitive. We're just out there to have fun.

I am number 9 on the black widows if you want to stop me and say hi.

I'll definently stop you and say hi.
I don't know what number I'll be, depends on what is available. Probably either 11, 15, 6, or 8.

I tried to get into the league last year but was late, and I was told that the "C" league teams were really, really full. I thought about playing in the summer league, but I didn't like the idea of being on a team mixed with A,B,& C leaguers... I didn't want to be a total liability and never get to play in key situations.

I'm really looking forward to this season. Its been a long time since I have put myself in a situation where I know I'm not gonna be any good. For a long time I have been just doing things that I know I can succeed at... but I thought, "wait a minute! thats what getting old is!", so I think it will be good for me to get out there and fall on my butt for a while.

I still need to buy the rest of my equipment... you aren't joking about it being an expensive hobby.

I ebayed my first set of equipment. I have slowly replaced most of it with newer nicer stuff over the course of three years. If you need to borrow something to get by let me know.

I love your reasoning for getting into the sport. A buddy and myself kept telling ourselves when we were learning to skate as adults "if you don't fall down occasionally, you aren't trying hard enough".

My Dad picked up hockey at the age of 46, and I picked it up at 26, I have a friend who picked it up at 31. We are all much better now than when we started so there is hope for you.

Do you already know how to skate somewhat?

Yeah I can skate, I just can't stop!

I played inline hockey in highschool, so I'm not totally new. But I have never played the game on the ice. But I love the game and am in pretty good shape, so I'm sure I'll pick it up pretty quickly

I bought most of my equip. on eBay I tried to buy a helmet on eBay, but it was nasty... really, really nasty. So I'm gonna get the helmet and gloves new, and after that I should be set.

If you played inline competitivly you are going to be way ahead of the curve for "C" league. Sounds like you'll do fine.

Cool. I won't worry so much about it then.
Sorry I don't need any corals at the moment (and sorry for hijacking your thread)
I'll see you on the ice in a couple of weeks.
And the NHL starts tomorrow!

We'll I got my light fixture sold at least. Still a long ways from paying for my rink fees though. I wonder if I can still play hockey well after giving plasma ;)

Did you raise enough to pay your rink fees?
If so, it looks like we are playing each other tonight.
If I get my choice I'll be wearing #11, but until the team jerseys come in it might just be black tape on a practice jersey.
