SPS frags with barnacles

I recently bought some acro frags from Marine Depot Live that have barnacles on them. MDLive claim their frags are aquacultured, but I find it hard to believe with the barnacles on them. They must be mariculture, or they fragged corals they got directly from the ocean. I was just wondering if anyone has bought aquacultured frags that had barnacles? Thanks.

Yes I see it quite often on both maricultured & wild pieces. They are reletively harmless as they are a filter feeder but I have seen them multiply to the point where they can put a small colony in danger. That said, in my opinion most of the time they just add some charactor to the coral.

Never. Only seen barnacles on wild and maricultured pieces. I agree with you...either maricultured or recently chopped up wild.
