In the picture, I don't seee much polpys extension.. Does the mille look like that in your tank or you agitated it so you can take a better picture of the color on the coralite?

Does anyone have a coral similar in coloration to this one? I would love to see some shots that other people have in their tanks.

Hmm. Well, since it is an A. millepora, take a look at this one. This is mine. I didn't realize I might actually have the same coral. Mine grows out like a table.

i have noticed they do tend to grow more out than up :)

It is still a baby, maybe the diameter of a bread / salad plate. However, all the front edge has new tips and I'm hoping it will just keep growing faster and faster. :D

Hey Marc, in your first pic I see some purple stuff growing in the zoo's. I have a new piece with some of that on it and was wondering if you found it to be a problem? TIA

That is some type of sponge, and it does no harm. I just pull it off when it gets unsightly.

Yes, that is pretty much what it looks like every day. The polyps do extend a little, but nothing like the one in Marc's do. I do not know if it is a mille or not, but I love the color.

By the way Marc, that coral is awesome. It does appear to grow out like a table.

Rich,

That is really nice growth over 1 year. Thanks for sharing. My favorite part of keeping sps is to watch them grow and transform into differnet colors and shapes. My wife thinks I am crazy for taking so many pictures of "colored sticks" in my tank. I love to take a picture and look at an old shot and see that it seems to be a totally different coral.

Thanks Dean...im a picture buff as well, love taking them ever month....then you can look back to see what the tank looked like as well as see the growth amoung corals.....

im with you on the polyp extension....some days they are out and others they are not....still growing, so something is working :)

If you have a clown goby in your tank, it will look like a stick instead of the wavy polyps. I've had a clown goby in mine for almost a year, and it never looked fuzzy except when it was late at night when the fish slept. Since reducing my fish load and getting rid of "Fang" the milli has been opening up and extending polyps beautifully.

That is so funny. Here I was coveting your coral on our club's message board, and it perhaps we ended up having the same - or at least similar - corals. ;)

No clown goby. I dont have any fish that pick on the sps corals. I have a green milli that has great extension and others with almost none at all. The colored stick comment I made earlier was just what my wife calls sps corals. She just cannot see the beauty in them. But she loves the softies! I guess I should be happy that she is at least OK with that.

Marc, now I am coveting your coral!

I do exectly the same thing. I take pictures at the end of the month, every month. To be honest, I usually cannot wait the entire month to take them.

Marc, it is about 9" x 6". It looks much bigger in the picture doesn't it? How about yours? Do you have any updates pictures?
