SPS Growth

Hi everyone. I know this question will prompt very different answers but I figured I would try to get some sort of average and try to quantify results. I have a 55 gallon with 300W of 14k Halide, and 260 of 420/460 PC. I have some monti caps and pocillilpora. What is the type of growth can I expect out of these corals? Other params: temp 79, calcium - 400-420, Alk 9dkH, 2200 GPH.

That question is very general..... You got any pics that show your setup.

We are visual people.

To just give you an idea with out going into the endless factors that affect grow. I have seen orange/pink monti cap grow not at all for months or grow as fast as a inch a month. Same thing with pocci, and most corals.

Again just so many factors. Parasites, nutrients high/low,lighting,spectrum,hrs,height, parims(big 3),flow,flow position, and on, and on,..........................

In general monti caps, and pocci are fast growers.

You have plenty of light, that takes care of that. As bluephish said, there are SO many other factors. For instance high phosphates will really impede SPS growth. Even a pesky fish that is constantly harassing a coral, can slow its grown down to a slow crawl.

I agree there's no way of knowing how fast your corals will grow but the potential for extremely fast growth exists. For example: a small frag of my purple Montipora can easily double it's size in 4 months if conditions are optimal.

That is what i figured. Just wanted to ask in case there was a something that is easily quantifiable. I will try to get pics up of my setup for all the visuals out there :)

No , it's not quantifiable or simple .Really can't say more without a more specific question or I could just go on and on about nutreints, alkalinity sg, temperature, stressors ,etc.
