SPS help...shrinking??

I've had this coral for about one year. Over the last couple days it looks like the top half has shrunk and the "tentacles/hairs" have not come out. Any advice? Also, anyone know the name of this coral?

looks to be hydnophora, excessive flow near the top maybe?

Honestly, I don't have a testing kit at home to check my parameters. Do you have a suggestion on a good affordable kit?
