Superman

The Superman is actually been doing a lot better lately, however the Poker Stars which used to look phenomenal looks awful now. PE on the Poker Stars is pretty good right now though and always has been. The ORA Purple Green acro has never looked good with zero PE during the day.

The problem is I am having is none of the symptoms are the same from coral to coral. Some brown out, some bleach and some are faded with no consistency.

ORA Red Planet - Mostly bleached but only on the new growth and growing like a weed. I got this the same time I go the Blue Milli and about the same size for comparison

Thanks for all the advice thus far everyone. I really do appreciate it, just trying to get an amazing tank like some of the ones I see on RC.

If you're keeping P03 low and it's not at 0 completely, how can you starve your SPS. I have no pest and I feed my sps amino acids and oyster eggs when the lights go out but that's when they have PE. Just asking to see if the lack of PE during the day could this be the problem. I keep my ALK at 8-9dkh

It was completely 0 up until recently. I just started dosing Red Sea Reef Energy A/B and feeding more and had my most recent sample come in at .03.

Just a little update.

It's been a almost three weeks since I started dosing Amino Acids and these are my latest parameters:

pH 8.2
alk 7.0
mg 1500
Ca 470
PO4 .06
Nirates/Nitrites still undetectable on the seachem

Since I have started, color and PE have improved a little. I had switched to using Red Sea Reef Energy A/B and so far I like that much better then Aquavitro. The best improvement I have had thus far is on my ORA Purple Green Acro that is now starting to get the green polyps on the base.

I have also stopped dosing any other elements such as boron, Iron, potassium and Iodine. With that I have also pulled my Carbon and GFO offline and now only use Magnavore Chem-pure since I have a Kenya Tree.

Another month or so and I should be seeing some really nice changes. Thanks for the advice everyone.

I have a similar problem. I started dosing Seachem Fuel and Phytoplankton two weeks ago and will start dosing Prodibio Reefbooster in the weekends.

By the way, have you ever measured your light levels?

In my tank, most sps corals are placed under something between 230 and 400 PAR.

Keep posting your results!!!:)

I've been having some mixed results from coral to coral and haven't really figured it out yet. My ORA Purple/Green Acro is doing amazing and keeps growing faster with far better colors.

However, my Leng Sy Cap Monti is looking awful. The green is completely brown yet the rim is still purple. I am having trouble trying to figure this out but I assume it is do to the higher nutrients in the water. I have one blue Acro and one Blue Tort that appeared to do a lot better then the colors on the top half of each branch and worked it way out to the tip. The Blue Acro was starting to STN so I moved it from the middle of the tank down to the bottom sand bed.

Everything has been pretty stable as compared to before, just phosphates hanging out higher around .04 - .06ppm.

Still a work in progress and I just got three new Lumen Bright Pendants with 250w 12k Reeflux bulbs. I didn't think my 150w were doing enough for my SPS so I decided to make a change.

A little update after two months of higher nutrients with photos. Everything has been pretty stable as far as water parameters and are as follows:

ph - 8.2
phophates - 0.04-0.06
nitrates - 0.0
nitrites - 0.0
alk - 8.6
Ca - 440
Mg - 1380
Temp - ??? Thermometer borker, new one next week

If you notice from my earlier pictures, everything is doing a lot better. However, even though the ORA Purple and Green Acro is doing better it's still not what it should be. I am getting a lot better growth and the green polyps have come back but only around base. The polyps ont the tips are still white and the stem of the coral is still light brown/tan. Could it possibly need more or less light? It's at the mid-level of the tank and is in between two of my MH's and not directly underneath.
