SPS id please

Sorry for the crappy pic, this was given to me as a crayola tabling acro. This is the first SPS I've seen with such large polyps and I'd like to know what it is and if it's similar to any named pieces like any of the ORAs or anything.

Crayola Plana. Mine is really fuzzy like that too. I target feed it time to time. Keep it low, burns easily.

Care wise I'd say it is similar to efflo.

haha i dont know the first thing about care for an efflo, i've kept mostly zoas with a few sps so far. i've had it on the top of my rocks for a few months now and it seems to be happy to me. from what you can see in the pic does it look healthy? it gets good flow and i do target feed it with selcon, coral frenzy, and zooplankton. does anyone have a pic of a big colony?

You all do know that ORA just makes these names up right? They are of no significance whatsoever other than marketing.

True, but I'd rather have an ORA Phils Granulosa (for example) than a wild Granulosa. As this hobby moves more and more toward aquaculturing and self sustaining, lineage will be a big factor in the value of a coral. You will know what your getting and be able to talk to others on how to keep in thriving.

Besides, you want to talk about made up names, look at the chalice fad we are in now.

As for the Plana it sounds like it's in a good spot. Keep doing what you doing if it is growing.
