Hello, I have asked this question in the past with no responce when my tank was 2-3 months old. it is now aprox. 5 ½ months old now. Not to mention I took all the LR that is in this tank from my fowlr tank when I set it up. I am not asking about my water quality cuz I am confident that it is up to par and can post numbers if needed but I am more concerned with my lack of metal halides or just running pc’s. well with my setup. it is a 26g bow front( w/ 4 x 65 watt pc. 2 x 10k , 1 x 50/50 10k and actinic 03, 1x 20k 450nm) tank is 21’’deep and lights are 4’’ off water.

i think that you would probably be alrite 2 keep low light sps like monti digi's or monti cap's in the top 1/3 of your tank i would try one of those first and if you have good growth and color try a slightly more demanding sps i hate 2 say it but honestly your going 2 end up needing h.o. t-5's or metal halides to keep more light demanding corals like acro's and milli's.

well thats what i am thinking also. today i just got a v nice montipora capricornis (ornge cap) and wanted so bad to get an acro frag but........ I with heald temptation.

its so hard to just scrap my pc setup, i am thinking about my next tank (as is almost everyone ) it will prob be in spring 07 so ill just wait till then.

My LFS has a monti cap growing at the top of a 12 gallon with 2x32 pc and at the top of a 25 gallon with 2x65. I am confident that you will be able to keep montipora with that set up, as long as you change your bulbs regularly.

I've had luck keeping some low light SPS in my 12g nanocube with 48W of PC light, so I don't see why you won't be able to. When I ordered a pack of zoa's the person gave me a free digi that was a single branch 1/2" high now its two large branches with multiple branches coming off of it total about 2 1/2" high and 2" wide.. this growth was over an 6 month period.
