SPS in biocube

Are ther any kinds of SPS that I could put in a biocube without the light upgrade? Would it be fine near the top? The tank is a 14gallon with a maxi 900 pump. Thanks. And by the way, I was just wondering.

No, I would doubt it. I have the Nano Tuners lighting upgrade and have one encrusting Monti in there struggling to live.

Do you have the light upgrade? Or did you keep it stock?

If you want to do it right go ahead and get the light upgrade. I used to get really bummed out when I would see some really nice corals just to find out I cant keep them with my current lighting system. There is a nice thread in the DIY section on how to make a 70w pendant for under $100. I did one buying parts off people here and it cost me around $75 start to finish. Good luck.

I kept green slimer, monti cap, and monti dig in a nanocube with out a light upgrade for almost a year. It all grew slow and the color was not intense, but it was all heathy. Oh I had a scroll coral that grew fine too.
