Hi, I have a ULNS sps 60 cube. I don't carbon dose or use biopellets, but I have both a remote DSB and a remote macro fuge which are about 30 gallons together. In a year I never get any NO3 above 0.5 ppm and 99% of the time my PO4 is 0.00 ppm (Lab tested). Im not boasting, im struggling to increase nutrients since my growth has been good but colors pale.
I have changed from Radion led to 250w phoenix 14k 2 weeks ago.
Here's my problem. Half my corals were pale before and with the new light are coloring up very well. But, the corals that were good under the led are getting pale and the acro's tips look awful. Pale and delicate, like they dried up. Two days ago I placed a screen under the MH which reduced intensity by 30%. I have heard in low nutrient tanks params should not be higher than seawater. So I'm slowly lowering Alk from 9.3 dkh to 7.5-8 dkh. Anyone experience this acro tip problem due to light or chemistry? I' d like to hear your solution. Thanks
