Hi

My system had ben running pretty well, how ever one day i realised that all my corals had lost their color. (they were getting brown) i realise that i got a po4 level of 0.1 - 0.08.

I then add some new rowa anti po4, and do a water change of 25%. After in a mater of a week the po4 level reaces 0. Was this to fast?

my parameters are:

no3: 2,5 - 5 around that area ( i just cant get it lower with vsv?)
kh: 8 (pretty stable)
po4: 0.0 (hanna meter)
ca/mg all within normal range 440/1300

I have some acropora corals that looks fine, and have started to regain their color, others have started to stn, and others look as these picture brown and their "skin" looks odd... no PE aswelll.. Have anyone seen anything similar? or got an idea if its po4 releated or not?

Doesn't look like too much light to me.. Either too much nutrients, not enough flow, or not stable parameters. How do you keep alk at 8.0?? Are you dosing something?? 8.0 is the low range of where you want it so if Its starting to dip into the 7s it can cause some browning out

tnx for your reply.

1: i keep my kh in place with a calcium reactor, i always run my tank around the 8 - 8.5 mark.. dont belive that is the reason here.

2: flow is 63x turnover... 2x tunze 6055 + tunze 6045 + Red Dragon 6500 return.. total water volume is 288Liters (77G)

3: I dont think its aefw or red bugs, i keep a few wasses becaus i want to awoid that, also i have checked (it was my first suspession)

I added a pair of Genicanthus melanospilos, so i have ben feeding a bit heavy, caught my po4 at 0,08 - 0,10 and got that down, this can be the isue still? guess its the chock then.. darn it :)

yes, couldent get a hold of what i usaly use. I cant recall if they looked bad or not before i did the big water change....
