Like title say sps n lps are melting n closing up. Water parameter alk/kh = 10.9 using salifert test kit, calcium = 420ppm using api test kit, MG = 1600 ppm using red sea test kit, nitrites = 0 , nitrates = 0 , phospate = 0 using api test kit. Im using 2x 250 watts radium bulbs with 2 T5 54 watts supplement on a 90 gallon bare bottom aga tank, n 30 gallon sump/ refugium. I dont know why sps melting n lps zoas r closing up. Need some advice? Thanks!!!

With the small amount of info you have provided it sounds like you have a severe water peram imbalance. Some might say 10+ dKH is fine but Mg @ 1600 is pretty far from the norm. Ca reactor or two part? How about SG? Need more info to help you.

A friend of mine accidentally overdosed his mag to 1900 in his LPS tank and watched 90% of his LPS melt away in a few hours. With sps being much more sensitive this may be the cause if your mag is 1600. Also try to remember if there's anything you dosed recently. Or a day you reached in the tank with perhaps soap or lotion on your arm. Any sudden change could be responsible

Can you have someone double check your alk? When I was getting towards the end of my Salifert alk test kit, the accuracy was significantly off. Unfortunately, I didn't think to get another text kit to compare and needless to say, it caused me a lot of problems and loss of many corals.

Time for a picture or better description of the sps dying. My guess at this point is the dreaded RTN. The rapid loss of the corals could affect the LPS. I have seen total systems melt down from a RTN episode.

When the SPS is going can you see the tissue flaking off? Does it start from the bottom or the top?

RTN. It's like a forest fire, it just spreads. You can frag off the ends and hope to fight the battle. Sorry dude, worst thing about an SPS tank.
