oh, and the 2 660 ballast will run you about 8.? amps together, since my one 660 was rated at i think 4.1 or something very close to that, so now you can run 3 250W halides and still be less energy used.
I just switched from T5 to MH, so far I am very happy with the results. I just wanted to say I have MUCH less heat now (500 watts instead of 324). This is mainly because the fixures take up much less room, so I have more open space in the canopy.

I'm running 3 MH and 2 VHO in a canopy on my 55g with no chiller. i.e., no cost of cooling. I get a lot of evaporation from 2 Icecap fans, but I don't count that toward cost of cooling.
