SPS order arrived

Hi,

My SPS order arrived today without issue. Kevin did a great job with the selection and the corals were well packed. There was one acro that had a few of the branches broken off but nothing major. Had a few acro crabs that hitched and something I'm not quite sure. I also observed no red bugs or flatworms.

Also it looks like my fish / invert order is delayed by Fed Ex its still in Indianapolis as of 10:48 AM not sure if it will make it here today.

Thanks,
-Mike

I was hoping you could help me ID this - it came off one of the acros when I did the turkey baster test for red bugs. At first glance it looks like a pest anemone however it can free swim by pulsing its arms which I have not seen anemones do in the past.

Melbourne,

The picture you provided is of an anemone, which is cultured in our coral farm to feed the berghia nudibranch. We apologize this was received with your coral and feel that it may have been stuck in the specimen container used to top off your shipping bag. Please dispose of the anemone as you see fit. Again, we sincerely apologize and have forwarded this information to our facility for review.

Thanks Leah,

I disposed of the Aitpasia - I've never seen one move like that before. Also my fish / invert order did not arrive today looks like it will get here tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be ok after 2 days in transit.

Thanks

Hi,

Just an update on my order. The 2nd package that was delayed for an extra day arrived and everything arrived alive. The GSM was alive but in bad shape. The rest of the order was fine. Everything was well packed and the GSM is beautiful and a nice size. However, I haven't been able to get the GSM to eat although the fish is now swimming more or less normally now. I've tried all my normal tricks and nothing as worked so far so I wanted to get some advice.

So far I've tried

Prime reef / Prime Reef soaked in Garlic Guard / Powdered Cyclopeeze / Frozen Cyclopeeze / Sweetwater Zooplankton
/ Frozen Brine Shrimp

the GSM has not shown any interest. I'm concerned since I believe the fish needs to eat to recover from the stress of shipping. By my calculations its been at least 5 days since the fish last ate, assuming the fish was not fed the day before it is shipped.

On a side note, two of the SPS colonies are showing small signs of bleaching - the other four colonies are doing fine. Normally when I see STN its usually due to stress or bad water parameters. The water in my Q-tank is freshly mixed Oceanic running with an established Tunze bio-reactor (Riverpack) filtration system and lit by a 250w Radium and a small skimmer. The one colony is exhibiting some bleaching at the tips in one section of the colony only (this was the acro that had the pest anemone in the bag). The other colony was very light to begin with and has some light bleaching at base. I'll try to take pictures of them tomorrow. Any suggestions on what I can do to reverse the trend / do you recommend fragging the branchs that exhibit the tissue loss?
