Sps placement

The question has probably been asked before but...


How do you guys judge where an acro will go for best placement?

I have a hard time discerning happy from so-so sps.

Ime, as long as they're within an acceptable range they will be quite happy. What will vary is color....

Start low and gradually move it up over several weeks or months. This is assuming your other sps ARE colored up and look good then you might deduce light intensity is the main issue. Some frags also color up the more as they grow into colonies and so patience is key.

I usually do a search of the specific acro I am interested in and see what others have noted about the specifics regarding light/flow etc. to get me oriented...

All my acros always end up at the top of my tank. But then it seems like only a few are really growing. Other stuff doesn't move. I have a red planet frag that aside from change from full bright red to green and red hasn't grown at all in maybe 3-4 months.
