SPS Polyp Extension

I'm a little confused about a few frags of sps I have. A green slimer, an ORA plum crazy, a raspberry milli and another encrusting sps I have won't extend their polyps. What's weird is I have several monti pieces that are doing fine/growing (green digi, red digi, green, purple, and red cap) and two birdsnests that are happy.

Specs are as follows:

30 gallon tall + 15 gallon sumo
Alk 9.9
Ca 430
Mg 1390
Lighting: 156W t5 lighting (50/50)
skimmer is an asm g1 -- pulls out a full cup every 2-3 days.
Flow in that area is medium to light. (I have a Mag 9.5 that provides flow to the entire tank)

The frags are placed near the top (par reading around 150)

I only have 4 small gobies in the tank. I recently got through a cyano problem. I was doing 15% water changes every other day. I now do 15% water changes twice per week.

Any thoughts?

I was wondering if it was a nutrient issue. I feed one cube of selcon enriched frozen food every day (I have a lot of lps that like the food).

I asked the same question to fellow reefers. They reply was that you cant judge by PE. If the coral is growing and color is good there's not to worry about. SPS actually have the most PE during the night time hours.

I would suspect rb's. THats the exact senerio I just went through with my tank and found red bugs...I hope not but if only acros are showing signs of distress then its pretty likely to be a pest. I hope not and im not trying to be a sourpuss, really. Just trying to give you something to check out.

Is the color good or slowly fading in these affected corals?

Oh and most of mine showed pe at night still but not as much as before the bugs.

The color of the corals is fine. There's a tiny bit of bleaching on the milli and green slimer. But that could have been from the stress of being added recently. I looked closely at the corals and didn't see any red bugs. Should I check at night?

Forgot to mention that I do have flatworms. I've never seen them on any of my corals, so I haven't felt the need to eradicate them.

Tested NO3 and it was 1 ppm using a Salifert kit.

I would take care of those FW ASAP before they get out of control! IMO. Good Luck and maybe post a few pics to get a better determination on what is happening in your system. Chef
