i have a few new acros in a 10g qt i inspected them, they looked good, good pe all look ok i change 50% water after 3 days. I decided to put a select few in the main display. I dipped the acros in medi coral and circulated the water in a small bucket, basted the corals and noticed a lot of bugs mostly pods. but they're were a few that concerned me one was red but long antenna's and one was like a slug black and tiny, I don't think it was a flat worm. i then inspected the corals flesh magnified and they look very good. So now I don't know what to do, should i dip again and place them or hold off a while, the problem is my lighting on the qt is led only and I don't think the corals will do very good in there too long. At no point were these corals in the main display once i was concerned i put them back in qt. I know the safe answer is leave them in qt but i have some nice acros that i don't want to stress out.

Honestly you are doing more than a lot of reefers do. Observation is key. It sounds like you have a knowledge of what to look out for. If you can keep them for awhile and observe then dip again before putting in the display go for it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence lol. I just don't know what red bugs look like, i say a "red bug" but after seeing the post here on sps pests they look nothing like that i could take pics but my macro is limited. I have a full thriving sps tank and would be devastated if i introduced something bad, i guess i can dip, shake, and blast each coral. That may blow anything off. My dip bucket still has live bugs in it I thought the dip killed them but i guess not. The real question is will red bugs move from the coral and run around the tank or do they stay like glue on the coral? And if they are on a coral will the coral retract its polyps?

here are pictures the whole coral and close ups please tell me what you guys think yay or nay

corals look clean to me. If you can swing a few more days and dip again its best no doubt. Im not sure if that is a red bug in the last pic, they are very easy to spot if you are using a magnifying glass.

The red bugs will travel from coral to coral in time.

i think i will do it tomorrow i'll dip again and shake then place them any suggestions on placement? i have 32 royal blue 3w crees at 80% and 8 vho 6 actinic and 2 act. whites tanks 32" deep high or low for the blue tort, bird of paradise, red planet, valida, and pearlberry. thanks for the help

my corals stay in a LED lit QT for a minimum of 4 weeks. And even at that, I once had what I though were clean corals, then found nudi's on the final dip right before going into display.
