Received a shipment of acro's yesterday. The shipment was opened by ups and delayed an extra 12 hours. The water temp was appx 60*. Acclimated and dripped them for 3 hours. Right now, there is little to no color and the tank has a odor. Tested ammonia, nitrite and they are ok and nitrate up a little. What are the chances that they make it? I know that acros have an odor but have never smelled them after putting them in tank. Is it safe to keep them in DT not that i have a qt?

Happened to me a few weeks ago with a few LPS and one Garf Bonsai. The acans made it just fine, I wasn't so fortunate on the bonsai.

keeping them in the DT with stable paremeters is best bet now. Dont move them just let them rest and acclimate to light slowly.

The delay probably hurt them more than the temp. Usually 60+ is OK as long as you temp acclimate them. In my experience if you open the bag and there's a strong odor, they're gonners. Don't right them off immediately though. I had one come in stinky with one polyp still attached and luckily now about 2 weeks later I have a good piece of skin starting to spread. In a few months it should be back to what it was.

I had one with a leaking bag. That one had totally cloudy water but i tried anyway. Bottom line is that my water now reeks and my nitrates increased. There is no flesh on over half of it so I believe its a goner. Hoping that the other two recover. So far just faint color on those but I will give it some time. These pieces really looked good in the photos and havent seen any think like them at lfs's so i hope they recover

May we ask where you got these corals from?
