sps starting to spread onto walls, but turning brown

Yea, so I have a green acro, and when I came back from my trip, i had seen one of its tips start spreading on the overflow box. Of course I dont want it to growing on there, so I promptly moved it. However, the branch that is spreading onto the box is browned out and so is the entire half of the acro. is this normal?

I also have been noticing white glittersized stuff on the acro.. dunno if its slime. but it might be a pest that is causing the acro to brown out.

any thoughts?

maybe acro eating flat worms? can you take the piece out and do the bowl test? There is a thread here in the SPS forum about it.
