SPS Sump NO3 questions

Guys, I have few ideas for the new sump, but I am not familiar with the systems too well, need your input on this.

1. DSB sump, this is what I wanted in the beginning, but it doesn't seem like a good idea according to some posts I read here, anyone has experience with it?

2. RDSB or simply refugium
I have no idea how well refugium works

3. Zeovit
I think it's somewhat expensive to maintain...?

4. Berlin
I know live rock helps with NO2, does it work on NO3 too?

5. NO3 reactor (Sulfur)
I remember I read something about it's not good for sps tank, I might be wrong..

Lets just say I dont use any of these... but I do have a coil denitrator. much like option 5, it is a coil that is designed to reduce and eliminate the nitrates thru the biology of the tank itself. if you are looking to reduce nitrates, read this article I wrote a while back on the subject.

I read some more about it, someone suggested it should be done using food grade material.. like this one.

sounds like you need a few people to split a role. i might be up for splitting if you go that route.

refugium works!, live rock, low flow, and somekind of macroalgee to pull out nutrients. the way i like to attack it is try to build redundance into the system and have 2 modes of filtration for each type. I.E I run
mechanical=skimmer and sock
chemical=carbon reactor and phosphate remover
biological=live rock and cheato
and of course water changes

Just my opinion... I'd start simple, get the system going and stable and then experiment with other options. My idea of simple is a standard sump design with a skimmer and a refugium area. Many people have had success with the other options, but I believe some form of a majority start with this. If you do, you may find you do not need anything else. Again, there are many methods and combos to handle 'filtration'... this is MY preferred.

Thank you guys for your inputs, I'm starting with berlin, then gonna add Coil Denitrator and see how it goes. that idea is pretty cool, can't wait to make one.
