SPS Tank with cyano

Any change things took a turn for the better?

-Mike

Removed a dozen or so bleached acros, the other 20 are all paled out and not looking so hot, so time will tell. My blue eyed kole tang is Mia, and my yellow tang has red ulcerations on its mouth. Two maxima clams are dead. The damsels and hawk fish are all doing well. Smell went from that house-bombing smell of 200 pounds of curing live rock to not so bad. Two forty gallon water changes and ample use of carbon helped a lot. Tomorrow I have forty more gallons of ready saltwater to change out, then I'll wait and see.

The cyano is gone at least :D

Really sad, I feel for you. Sounds like it is starting to cycle again and you are doing about the best you can.. Turn the skimmer up and water changes.
I really get scared when people suggest chemiclean because I have heard the exact same thing that is happening to you happen to others. It seems especially dangerous to those with sps.

40 gallon water change done, carbon changed, poly filter added, sponges changed, skimmer super cleaned, Tunzes super cleaned, glass cleaned of coralline algae.

Fish are doing well, Yellow Tangs facial wounds are less red, turning to white and he is eating. All fish appear healthy and no worse for the wear. Blue Eye Kole Tang is MIA, did some searching through the rock, but the significant cleanup crew probably finished him off. Water smells better and most SPS are browned out with that dry look, some have still retained their color amazingly, fingers crossed there.

Tank is now stabilized and my acros that lived are holding their own. Added some new Turbo snails and a few hermit crabs to eat the algae coming back, no cyano at least:D
