Sps tanks and filtration

Starting to redesign a new SPS tank.

what type of filtration is everybody using this day and age to run their SPS tanks?

some of the tanks i have seen are a modified Berlin style ......obviously good husbandry pays a part....trying to find out what's the best way to go.

what is the most common to provide the best colors with sand?

90% are still Berlin style, clean sections, heavy skimming with refugiums. Only thing that changes are the reactors, to each his own on those. If you can get by with just a fuge, thats great, if you need GFO, GAC, or any other method of filtration then that is on you. Colors come from lighting and nutrient levels and species.

SPS system for me...
only filtration I have ever used since 2003 is a skimmer plumbed to tank overflow, and 700+- pounds of live rock in my system 300DD, 150g prop, and 200g sump.
clean skimmer 1/wk and Change 50 gallons/ week
