SPS tissue loss question

Hi,

I got a new frag the other day and it looked great when I unpacked it and put it in the coralRX dip. The coral RX was mixed per manufacturers directions. When i dipped the coral and used my turkey baster like I usually do , it took some of the flesh off of the coral. The polyps are still there, except like maybe 1 or 2, but a lot of the flesh is gone. I know there's probably not too much I can do but wait. In anyone's experience do you think this coral will make it?

I had a Hawkin's Blue Echinata that I purchased from LiveAquaria a month ago along with some other pieces, and I made the mistake of dipping it on CoralRX as I usually do with all corals.

Turns out you cannot dip those SPS. Pretty much wiped the frag clean. Good news is that it is making a slow recovery, branch by branch, so I feel your pain and wish you luck!

Sincerely,

David

Thanks for the response David. Hope your piece is doing well. Yeah guess it just day by day frag still has polyps so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will be more careful when dipping in the future...

No worries. Seems in hind sight it was a sophomore mistake, but, we learn.

Progress is slow but I can see daily improvements. Hope that you piece finds it way back. Keep algae off if you can.

Sincerely,

David
