squamosa= bio filter?

hi guys, i had 3, 1 foot squamosas..... will they help to reduce no3 and nutrients? my no3(salifert) testing show 2.5-5ppm of no3. will the squamosas still grow larger?

Yes, they do consume some amount of nitrate. They will also eat particles small enough for them to filter.

I think that the squammies will grow larger yet.
