Squamosa & Sand

I got a squamosa clam about a week ago. I placed him on my sandbed. He is now about half buried in the sand. I'm not sure if he's doing it or if sand is piling up around him due to the flow in my tank.

Will the sand hurt him? Should I be concerned and move him somewhere else?

Thanks

if you place a small flat rock under it, it should stop. sand wont hurt it as long as its not getting blown inside the clam

Did you place a flat rock or tile under it? If not it is probably burrowing down to attach to the tank bottom. I placed 1/2 of a bathroom tile (small ones) underneath my Squamosa and piled a little sand around it to keep it upright. It attached to the tile and now I can move it if I would like.

Placing a rock should be OK. But I have all my clams directly in the sand bed and they roam a little side to side and up and down all the time, so it will probably be fine either way.
