Squamosa spawning causing skimmer overflow?

Two times now since I've purchased my 8-inch long Squamosa, I've checked my sump area and noticed both my skimmers overflowing. I suspect the Squamosa is spawning and the material it's sending out into the water is causing this behavior. This has happened twice now within a month. Has anyone else every experienced this with their large clams and their skimmers?

yes a clam spawning can send your skimmer through the roof. clams spawn usually due to stress, so you need to look at your water parameters, lighting etc ......

but until you actually see the clam spawning i wouldn't rule anything else out either.

if it is your clam you'll need to do some water changes, clean your skimmer and keep it running @ 100% as well as run some carbon if your not.
