SRC Home Stretch Woo Hoo !

"Well, Grandaddy was a hillbilly scholar, blue collar of a man.
He came from the school where you didn't need nothin',
If you couldn't make it with your own two hands.
He was backwoods, backwards, used words like:
"No Sir," "Yes, Ma'am," "By God," "Be darned,"
"Hell yeah, I'm American."
In all the years he walked this earth,
I swear all he did was work."

Van Zant, these lyrics sum this whole topic up pretty good, and describes my life as well, both my grandaddy's were like this and one still is.

I think I recall you are saying you are one of the younger ones here on this board- I'm just curious and further derailing this thread (sorry!) but do you mind if I ask what it is you do? Don't think I got a chance to meet you at the conference.

I met a really young looking guy today who was 21 (he could have been 15 by his looks!) and he seemed really enthusiastic about wanting to work and said (though saying and doing are two different things) that when he does a job he wants to do it as best as he possibly can. If that pans out to be true for him he'll always be successful because there just isn't a lot out there these days.

Speaking of sense of humor, where can I buy a crab hat? :)

Could not have been me...
I was the goofy old man with the crab hat...
Acting a fool....
as far as buying a crab hat. Ask my wife who is the treasurer or our VP Millessa...
They are the ones who happened apon it and said it had my name all over it....
I am the public relations person....A.K.A....Mac

For those of you who weren't at the SRC, this is what Christie is talking about. At least we knew where Mac was at all times. :)
You can buy them at Jester's Party Supply store in Kissimmee.

Yep i do work at Publix and proud to say that i have a job, would prefer to work at a reef place, though it might be kind of boring not seeing as many people as i do at publix because i am very much a people person. I want to be a pharmaceutical sales rep, and i plan on getting a job at CVS as a pharmacy tech to get a better understanding of the products i would be selling while going to college at the same time. I only work one day a week at Publix or maybe the odd two, but i guess its ok for the time being, until college starts.

Whats wrong with Valencia? I took a couple classes there but mainly went to UCF. I hate to break it to you but I haven't seen an employer or boss really care WHERE you went to school unless you are going into a prominent position at a big firm.

Another big surprise is I have never had one ask or care about GPA either. I've also seen more intelligent and successful people go to CC first. :)

So don't feel bad at all.
