For anyone wishing to be a St Jude Volunteer and help set-up maintain the St Jude Tanks please feel free to fill out an application. I will have pleanty at the April meeting but if you feel like going ahead and filling one out by all means help yourself. Once its filled out simply bring it to me (at the meeting or via some other means) so I can turn them in together and make sure that their slated for "Saltwater Mantinence ONLY." This will rush the apps and make absolutely sure that we're only for the tank maintenance. Here is the link for the pdf file

If the above link does not work Use this one

and click the application link in the body of the article that says "Hospital Volunteer Application."
Some of you have contacted me about getting an application via Fax and post so you'll be getting yours soon. Now Since there will be a large number of us going through Volunteer Services they have agreed to do a remote Human Recources training scession. I can hear the grumbles now. I know that might be a problem for some. That they are willing to do this off campus and wherever we would like to hold it is a great benefit and kindness their extending to the club. It would only be a couple hours and could probably be knocked out at either a club meeting or on some other day of our choosing. Once I get our applications in we'll cross that bridge together. I'm hoping to get all my ducks in a row and have a group meet at St Jude Saturday April 22nd to tear down and clean one of the tanks. This will be a group effort and I'll have to coordinate with a couple people to have everything ready to go so we're not disrupting the Patient Care Center for too long. We'll probably need some people to run interferance with the kids while the rest tear the tank down. Something I was thinking about would be for the "Kid Wranglers" to bring some books and have the children pick out the fish they would like to see in the tank. Just a thought. Well, I'm really excited about this! What it will do for our club, our sponsors, and most importantly for the children! As any of you can tell Reef and Marine tanks catch attention and inspire learning no matter how young or old you are. And for these children their often a way to forget the pain for a while. The tanks are prominently displayed in a theme room accessable through a major hallway. Anyone walking by will see them and with the number of visitors and benefactors that come through here on a daily basis these tanks will be enjoyed by all. I'll keep everyone posted and keep an eye out for more info on our website and here on our forum.
Thanks all,
Barrett "They now call me "the fish man." " Shumaker

Do we have to answer the questions on the questions section since we are only there for maintaining the tanks? It is mostly stuff about experience with child care, my leadership strengths, etc. Nothing really that pertains to cleaning fish tanks.

I would say Yes. NOt that they would really care but I would hate to have it rejected for missing info. Just put a sentence there. Nothing fancy. "I have experience with child care. I am a good leader." work for me.

Is there a fax number that I can use to get you the application.
Did I not e-mail you the fax number with the application? If not I'll get it for you tomorrow. It should be a 495 number.
