Stable PH or Alk .... Can't have both

I agree, don't bother chasing pH values. I believe in dosing alk in small doses throughout the day to keep alk as stable as possible. I do this through my apex. Just follow alk and pH normally follows in line.

Keep the alk stable and do not worry about the ph swings. Your corals are far more stressed by fluctuating alk than they are with ph.
Thank you for being the first poster to actually answer the OP's question!

Would that more - in this thread and too many others - could follow your example. Thank you.

There's not a lot of strait answers in this very complex hobby, and a lot of insight is brought in by the interjection of all these little tidbits of information supposedly off topic. What would be the point of someone just saying yes or no, they're would only be 2 posts to each thread and all of us fish geeks would have nothing to read on our iPhones late at night. Don't be too critical of people just trying to help, I've learned more in life off-topic than on it.

THanks for the feedback everyone. I will give it a go for a continuous dose apposed to non light period like I am doing now. If I see any change will update thread
