Stacking liverock against glass?

Go Dawgs!
im noticing many pics on here where people have stacked their live rock against the back glass. Can you please tell me if this is ok to do... I wanna stack my live rock, but i really dont want to glue them together incase i wanna move them around later.

What are the bad things that can happen with stacking against the back glass??

If you dont stack against the glass , do you glue your rocks together??

Thanks for your help!

It is fine if you stack the rock against the back glass aslong as you do it securly. If the rock work isnt stabile and it falls a 5 lb piece of rock falling can shatter or crack a tank easily.
Make sure the rock is stabile and isnt going anywhere, that is what takes the most time, fitting the rock into tone another like a puzzle.

If you dont stack the rock against the glass the same rules apply, it has to be stabile. Some will drill holes in the each rock and zip tie them together to make it stabile, or use a PVC rack so the rock is supported by that.

another drawback about stacking rocks against the glass is that it makes it nearly impossible to clean around them.

Only stack against the glass in areas you never want to scrape clean -- once coralline gets next to rock against glass it's permanent. :)

i keep mine away from the glass one for cleaning and two because
i like mine away because my regal tang can make a nice loop around the rocks. gives more territory for my tangs also.
