staging of refugium questions

I have a nice system planned but will not be able to stock it in the time frame I had planned due to my wife fighting breast cancer. My current plan is to complete the system which will include a remote equipment room. I hope to have a sea grass refugium included in the system. My question is..... can I complete the system, establish the sea grass area then establish the display at a latter time. Will the cycling of the rock blow out/overload the refugium?

Terribly sorry to hear of your wifes struggle, I do hope that everything works out for both of you.

It would be perfectly fine to establish the seagrass fuge first, it will likely help to reduce the cycle after LR is added in the display. Plus the seagrass will definately benefit from the extra nutrients when the LR is curing. Depending on how long it takes to get the rest of the system up and running you may need to dose some nutrients to keep the seagrass happy, but there are plenty of people here to help with that when your ready.
