Stand paint

I was honestly surprised at how little info I found on the DIY forum...

What have you DIYers done for paint inside your stand. My idea is to paint, and then caulk seams so I have a 'tub' to contain spills. So what would be a good paint? Should I blow money on full on marine paint? Or is there a less expensive substitute?

TIA

Some have used epoxy while others have actually used pond liner; but, you got the idea. You wanna make sure if/when there is a spill of nasty saltwater (or worse - skimmer effluent) that it doesn't impact your stand.

I used some kind of white boat/marine paint and caulk when I built mine.

I think I'm going to apply a coat of that epoxy that people use to line their garages with though.

i used kilz on mine.

I used Marine Grade Paint from West Coast Marine.
Went through about half a gallon for a 90gal stand and canopy.

follow wayne's lead. i didn't understand why he did what he did until i saw it save his behind a few times. wouldn't do it any other way.

I've used both Kilz and white "Primer Gripper" (forget the brand it was from HD). They're both pretty good, the gripper seemed to not rub/chip/wear as easily as the Kilz.
