Stand Temps vs. Condensation

My stand is completely enclosed.

I recently drilled (2) 3" holes in either side of the stand and installed a fan.

Now the inside of the stand doesn't get hot, but I have a ton of evaporation, and I mean a ton. Every night when I come home from work there are puddles of fresh water underneath each door.

So what do I do? Should I turn off the fan and cope with the temps? Or keep the fans on and cope with the stand always being wet inside?

At least with the holes in the sides maybe it wouldn't be as hot as it was before if I turn the fan off.

Opinions?

Thanks
Josh

Ths is a tough one. You could get a humidistat. Or a dehumidifier. Or an HVAC system. none of these are on the cheap side but continuous condensation is going to lead to mold which will lead to poor health for you and your family.

Not to mention rotting the wood in my stand.

Should I just turn off the fan and deal with the hotter stand?

That is going to be your best bet for the time being. Are the fans pulling air out or one blowing one pulling? Also is this tank close to an exterior wall? If it is, this is an easy fix if you like doing destruction.:)
Put a dryer vent exit, like the one that is on the outside of you house from your dryer, behind your tank. On the outside of your house of course. Then attach a dryer vent hose to the back of your stand and run it to the exit. Then just have both of your fans pulling air into the tank and it should all exit out the vent. Cheap and easy fix but requires modification to your exterior. Always a drawback isn't there.

The fan is near the top of the stand. It blows across the top of the sump. One hole is on the same side as the fan under it and the other hole at the opposite end of the stand up high.

See my www link for my setup, or see the pic of the fan below.

THanks

I think my main issues is that I'm not pulling air out of the stand, I'm just blowing a ton of air within the stand, so that humid air doesn't exit. Even though there are holes since I don't have the fan against the hole, the purpose of the holes is defeated.

I think I need to put my fan against the exit hole so its actually moving hot wet air out instead of acting as a chiller for the sump and convertnig hot air to much much wetter cold air.
