Stand Ventilation

My stand is currently completely close off. I was thinking of cutting a 4 inch hole in the back to let it vent. Is that necessary? or enough?

I live in California where the weather doesn't get too hot.

Its not so much about the heat but rather the humidity.
A single 4" port alone may not be sufficient depending on how well the doors seal and various other factors..

Having 2 x 4" ports (I'd actually do ports for a typical 120mm computer fan) would allow you to have an inlet port to bring in fresh air via a fan blowing into the stand and then a 4" exhaust port to allow humid air to be exhausted out.
