standard 10 gallon questions

I would like to set up a 10 gallon in my suite on campus this coming fall.

I figure it can all be set up for ~$135 which includes:

50w hydor theo heater
koralia nano 240
8 pounds live rock
Marineland LED fixture (single bright LED system - $39).
10 gallon aquarium on the $1/gallon sale.
I have sand here.

I figure I can do a water change weekly on Sunday evening. The tank would be on its own for ~48 hours over the weekends. I would get an acrylic cover for the top with some air holes drilled in to reduce evaporation.

Water changes and top offs would be performed using RO/DI water.

I'd like to house 2 clowns. Is this doable or is there something I'm looking over completely? I'd like to keep it simple as to keep the costs down and relatively small for ease of transportation when necessary.

The suite allows me up to 20 gallons, but I figure 10 is an easier move. I would like the 14g biocube but it seems I can piece together a standard 10 for less than the cube itself.

Can this tank, as described, sustain itself as a fish only? I would probably put chaeto in there as well.

Sounds like a setup I had before, you should be able to do it no problem. I had a 10 set up at work, and sometimes it would be unattended for like 4 days, and the evap never seemed to bother the fish. Just get your lights on a timer.

I've seen quite a few small tanks have AC70s attached to the tank.

Would this be a wise purchase? Mainly to run something like a carbon bag?

How noisy are these HOB filters?

i will be getting an ac70 for my 15G to put chaeto in and to help with a little bit of water flow. Look around in some of the other forums and there are threads with mods that you can do to the ac70's

I picked up the tank today and made an aquascape I like with base rock.

What I want to prevent is any aiptasia in this tank, meaning I cannot seed it with anything from my other tank.

Is the preferred method to still use a deli shrimp or possibly some frozen mysis cubes to jump start the cycle?

I like the fuge mod to the ac70 (using the convenience of inTank). Is it necessary to use a add a power head to a 10 gallon with something like the ac70 that is rated at 300 gph?
