standpipe problems

hello forum,
maybe someone can help me with this problem. I have a 200gal. reef tank and ever since it was setup one side of my overflow is making a gurgling sound and the water in the overflow keeps going up and down. I notice the water level in the tank also keeps going up to the bottom of the center brace. it appears the water isn"t draining fast enough. I'm thinking it's the standpipe. but the other side seems to be fine. It has the little plastic tube on the top of the pipe and I tried adjusting it up and down that did absolutely nothing. anyone have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

There are lots of possibilities. Is the tube you are posting about able to draw air? Is the tank level? How big is the return pump? How is it plumbed? The more info you can provide with pictures if possible and even video will help.

Thanks you guys, I think the problem is resolved. What I did was removed the U shaped pipe on top of the standpipe and to my surprise it balanced out with no gurgling. now I'm wondering if its ok to leave it off.

post a picture and let us see what you have. i will at least give you my opinion... it might not be worth much but you never know
