Star Fish

The other day I noticed a small star fish sticking its legs out of a piece of live rock in my refugium. Since it was dry rock to start with the only thing I can figure is that it was hitch hicking in the ball of cheato algea I bought. Anyway, I think it is a brittle star variety. Do you think I need to feed it, if so what?

Take a look in the tank after the lights go out with a red light. You may find many dime-sized starfish. They eat detritus and tend to go through cycles along with pods, Collonista snails, etc.

Years ago I had two of them living in my live rock and I would feed them just to be sure they had enough to eat. They were always in the same spot. After a time first one disappeared than the other.
