star fish ?

i just got a tile star fish and after about a week someone in the tank has taken off one of the stars fish legs do the hermet crabs do this if so how do i stop it

I don't know about hermits but shrimp will.

The only thing I can think of is either getting rid of the starfish or the hermit crabs. Or could there be something else in your tank that took the leg off? Don't starfish like regenerate and grow back their arms?

The starfish might be stressed or starved. It's normal for them to shed a leg or more to sustain the rest of the body.

My linka lost two legs after being introduced into my tank due to stress, but luckily they recover. The two lost legs grew into whole starfish. It took almost two years for that to happen.

That's really cool.

I would agree that it's normal for a starfish to shed a leg. At any rate, I wouldn't remove any inhabitants over it.
