star polyps

i asked about star poplyps and xenia in the new to the hobby forum. my question was this: i have xenia growing now and some star polyps that were hitchhikers on the same big rock. i know that both grow very quickly and i wanted to know if one would crowd out the other or if they can share the space? some one replied saying that star polyps will sting the xenia to death. i am new but i havn't read that star polyps sting. do they sting? any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

I don't think so. They may smother them eventually . I hear they grow pretty fast but I am new to this too!

i have star polyps and zenia growing together actually touching, they exsist very well together. star polyps can smother other corals, every once in a while i peel polyps off the base of some of my leathers. to my knowledge star polyps do not sting, in my opinion these 2 corals exsist well together if properly managed.
