Starfish & Clams?

I currently have a 2" Blue Maxima and a 6" Blue Crocea and would like to know if there is any problems with adding the following starfish:

1. Fromia - Red or Marble
2. Linkia - Blue or Orange

I believe that both of these starfish won't eat or attack the above clams. I would just like to be sure before I get one. The Fromia's are usually between 1" - 3", so they don't really appear to be a problem. But the Linkia's can sometime be around 6" - 8" and I don't want my Clams to be harmed.

Anybody with experience or specific knowledge know if they are compatable? Also, I am aware of the delicate nature of the stars and will drip acclimate them for 2 hours, unless a longer time is recommended.

Thanks.

Ive heard people dripping linkias for up to 6-8 hours while keeping them at tank temp. I figure, it cant hurt to go longer.

They should be ok with the clams, but make sure they are the genus you mentioned. ALso, be forewarned, little is really known of the husbandry of these starts, so many die rapidly, and without warning. Good luck.

my linkia loves my maximas shell he cruises it alot, there are alot of sponge and algae on the shell, i did just get the maxima but,i took a pic check out my post in this forum

i have a purple linkia that likes to crawl over everything but oddly enough he never seems to bother the clams :) ( knock on wood )

for acclimating, i drip until i match the tank parameters. usually a few hours just to be sure. the big thing with stars is to make sure the do not get exposed to air when you transfer them to your display.
