starfish question?

i bought an orange linka sunday and he been all over the place but today he's is puffed up on the bottom, hes alive but doesn't look good, don't know whats wrong. also due green Haitian starfish eat anemonies?

Linkeas need to be drip aklimated very slowly over 4 hrs or so, mine lived for two years then it shrunk and died. It's hard to say what they eat in the home aquarium, as for being puffed up, linkeas are known for melting in the home aquarium, due to salinaty changes. Very sad. Hope he pulls through for you.

he didnt pull through, i aklimated him slowly for about 2 1/2 hours but he was upside down this morning. very sad, thx for the info. do you happen to know where to get linkeas online?

Almost any online retailer will sell them, but I would advise against buying one online. Keep in mind that these animals have to pass through about 3 or 4 other hands at least before they get to you. If someone didn't acclimate them properly anywhere along that way you're going to end up with a dead star no matter how careful you are. I would only buy one from local shop and only after they held it for at least 3 weeks without any signs of decline.
