Starfish????

There is a starfish that is the size of a pencil eraser that is on my live rock. It is olive green with a black dot in the center

A small Brittle star, perhaps?

how long has it been in that spot? if its alive then a picture would help.

I have seen asterina starfish and bivalves die for unknown reasons and become lime green.

I have some tiny brittle stars in my refugium with pods. They never get any bigger. They are supposed to be that size. They came into the system from some LFS plant purchases for the fuge.

Is it possible to get a picture? what does the legs look like? are they stringy or thick? (like a normal star fish would have)

i will try it, sometimes is really hard 2 find. it blends in perfectly on the live rock scince i dont have any coral

the legs are sort of fat but not long and skinny it also moves around alot

probably an asterina star. sometimes they can be light and I've seen them darker in color too.

yes they're benificial, they can reach plague proportion. But I really wouldn't worry too much with them.
