Some are reef safe, others are not. I picked up a bunch because I thought they were cute. Two weeks later my trumpet coral and GSP were all eaten up...

They are great additions to your CUC as long as you weren't so unlucky as to get coral eating ones. I used to have swarms of them in my old tank, and everyone loved the "cute little starfishes". Just watch your corals carefully.

What he said. I've never had a problem with them in 25+ years and counting

yeah be careful with those small stars they can be bad, they can eat away some small corals, like the polyps. Just keep an eye on them

We had an unknown number in our 125. Maybe we had some bad ones. If a coral had a dead or dying area they would swarm and eat the tissue. Little or no time for recovery.
