Stark/Summit County Frag Fest?

Who would interested in having a frag fest here in Stark/Summit County area. We are always making the hour drive north how about sharing the love down here?

How many reefers in this area would be interested?
 
Myself and a few local friends would still probably make the trip. We are way in the upper right comer in Ashtabula. So every frag fest is a drive. We've gone as far as the CORA swap.
 
I would be interested in attending and maybe helping on the day of the swap if someone took the lead in setting it up.
 
There's a thread that has dates of all the swaps in the US. It helps to pick a date that is not to close to other swaps to insure that vendors can and will be able to make it and not to close to other local swaps so attendance is good. I've been to swaps/conventions in Columbus, Chicago, Detroit, A few different ones in PA. I always enjoy traveling to the near by stores on the way back to see what's hot in other locations besides Cleveland.

If we did this on a Saturday I would be able to open our Church fellowship hall to hold the swap.

I have NO idea on how to do this. If someone wants to take the wheel on this one I would love to help and host the event.
 
Pastor when were you thinking of having this event? The LEAR swap is quickly approaching....before or after that? I like the idea of having at your church but I would recommend getting some kind of head count first.....these things can get crazy as you know. lol I'm hoping it does! =) (Is fragswapper an option for this? Could get an idea of how many people that way.)

I have never even been to a frag swap. I have no idea about them. I just wish we had some sort of event here closer to home. I am finding more and more reef junkies here in the area and would like to meet more of them.

I think a frag swap would be a good way to do this.

I just need someone who is more experienced to step up and help.

It took over a year to plan the LEAR swap and help from all of the club members. It sounds like a fun easy idea but there's a lot of ground work that needs to be done before the idea of a swap can take place. Without a club in summit area I'd suggest that should be the place to start, swap corals with club members first, establish yourselves as a club then move towards having an event. Just my 2 cents.
Or maybe have a old school swap at someone's house without the vendors?

I'm sure its a huge amount of work to get it set up correctly. If not nobody will show up or it will be a flop. Lots of planning and scheduling as well as establishing rules etc. I'd be happy to help if I wasn't all the way in Ashtabama. Hope this event happens though!
