Well im thinking of purchasing a starki damsel ive had a juvinile before and was peaceful but i have the chance to purchase a larger starki 2- 2-1/2inches my question is he will be one of the first fish i add i have a purple tang small true percula and a yellow coris wrasse will he act aggressive towards any new additions of his size.

starki damsels are pretty peaceful compared to most damsels....it may "claim" your tank as its own territory though if its a small tank...what size tank do you have for it? i asume its pretty large if you plan on getting (or already have) a purple tang....if it does become territorial you could reorganize your tank so it will have to reastablish its territory or you could just hold off on adding it until its the last edition....but if you do really want to add him now go for it....he may not bother your fish at all....hard to tell with each individual fish....
good luck:D

My starcki would have been the boss and lorded over the entire tank if he was the largest fish. Stacki may be peaceful for damsels, but they're still damsels... don't forget that.

Since my Potter's Angel wouldn't let the stacki push him around he sort of gave up on lording over everybody. After a few weeks he finally decided on a cave he liked and it was HIS, no other fish was ever permitted inside it again after that. But he generally was peaceful regarding the rest of the tank as long as they stayed away from his spot.

So I don't think you have to add him last but I'd make sure there is at least one other fish in there that can hold it's own first. They are more semi-aggressive than peaceful in my book... he never did actually hurt anybody though.

yea my purple tang is mild tempered but he makes sure to let the other guys now who is boss when push comes to shove lol.ive always heard horror stories on how bold purple tangs are but mine just minds his buisness i guess it is cause i got him very small 2 inches maybe. he is now 4-5in in 5 years

I just bought a starki about a month ago... he is about 2 1/2" and hasnt really bothered anybody. I have to admit that he is one of my favorite fish.

i got the starki and im glad to say he is eating already and even active all over the tank. but my wife was the one who picked him up and i got the suprise that she got a sunburst anthias s.latus and when i got home she had acclimated the fish and they were in the tank i now they need several feedings a day and would like some tips on how i can care for it better.
